The great grout color debate in my bathroom
Had to pick between matching the tile or going with a pure white. Chose the match, and after a week of drying, it just looks like a dirty floor. Anyone have a good fix for this, or should I just redo it?

Ugh, been there. Have you tried a colored grout sealer to change the tone without redoing the whole thing?

My buddy had that exact problem with his bathroom tile. He used a dark gray sealer on his stained grout and it looked way better for about a year. The color started to wear off in the high traffic spots, though, and it looked kind of patchy. He ended up just re-grouting the whole floor last month because it bugged him so much. It's a decent short term fix but it might not last as long as you'd hope.

Just commit to the floor looking perpetually grimy and call it "lived in" decor, right? (I'm being sarcastic, obviously). That grey sealer trick is a bandaid at best, I've seen it turn into that patchy nightmare on my sister's floor in like six months. The real kicker is the colored sealer might make it worse if you don't get the exact same shade of dirty beige. Honestly, you're better off just buying a tiny tub of matching grout and redoing a small patch to test if the sealer matches before going whole hog. Or just accept your bathroom floor has chosen its identity as a permanent dirt magnet.
