Warning about those peel-and-stick floor tiles for a kitchen

I put them down over a weekend and they started peeling up after maybe two weeks, so I wasted about $200. Has anyone found a decent adhesive that actually works for this?

Okay, so about "peel-and-stick" tiles. That's kind of the problem right there. Those tiles rely on their own sticky backing, and that's almost never enough for a high-traffic area like a kitchen. The adhesive just can't handle the temperature changes and foot traffic. You really need to use a separate, extra-strength flooring adhesive spread on the subfloor before you even place the tile. Even then, the prep work on your floor has to be perfect, totally clean and level, or nothing will stick right. It's a way bigger job than the box makes it seem.

Totally agree with @kevin_schmidt97, I used extra adhesive too!
