Worst Saturday of my life: gutters collapsed in a rainstorm
Last Saturday was shaping up fine until the sky opened up around 2 PM. Within 20 minutes, my old aluminum gutters sagged and dumped about 30 gallons of water right onto my back porch steps, which warped the wood bad. I spent the next 4 hours in the rain pulling down busted sections and clearing clogs with my bare hands because my ladder kept slipping. Anyone else had a basic home system just give up at the worst possible moment?

Man that sucks, I feel you. Had something similar happen a couple years back when a big storm took out a section of my downspout and water just flooded against the foundation. Spent the whole weekend digging a trench with a hand shovel because the ground was too wet for anything else. Hope you got the wood dried out before it started to rot, that stuff is a pain to replace once it sets in.

Did you try renting a dehumidifier from a hardware store @cole_davis47? That saved my wood after a similar mess.
