Trim carpenter's square finally paid for itself after 47 door casings

I've been putting up casing around every door in this 1920s house for the last month. Kept using a regular speed square and getting gaps at the miter joints. Finally broke down and bought a proper carpenter's square with the adjustable fence. Checked every single door frame angle first. Turns out none of them are actually square, some are off by almost a half inch. Redid the last three doors with that square and they fit like a dream. I counted 47 casings total, and I'm kicking myself for not buying it on door one. Anyone else find out their house is secretly crooked once they got the right tool?
