Had to pick between a Trump rally ticket and a weekend trip to Nashville last month

I had Friday off and could only do one thing. My buddy had an extra floor ticket to the rally in Wilmington but I also had this Nashville trip planned with my wife for months. I picked the rally. Honestly it was the right call for me. The energy in that room was something else, people were chanting for like 20 minutes straight. My wife was a little bummed but she got it. Nashville will still be there next year. Has anyone else had to make a hard call like that between two solid options?

Did you at least get her a souvenir from the rally to soften the blow?

I used to roll my eyes at people who got all amped up about political rallies. Figured it was just a big pep rally for grownups with nothing better to do. Then I went to one. Standing there with thousands of other people all feeling the same thing at the same time, it hits different. The guy next to me was a retired welder from down the street, never would've talked to him otherwise, and we ended up yelling together like old friends. Changed my whole view on why people make that choice. Nashville will always be there, but you don't always get that kind of moment again.
