Showerthought: The lineweight setting in my CAD was ruining my printouts for 6 months

I was over at a print shop in Portland last Thursday watching the guy run my drawings and he pointed out all my hatch patterns were too dark because my lineweights were set to 0.18mm default instead of 0.13mm for general notes... been tweaking them since then and the contrast is way better. Anyone else have a dumb settings mistake that took forever to catch?

Know what's wild, I spent a solid year draining my black ink cartridges way too fast before I realized my plot style table had every single color mapped to a solid black fill instead of just using the correct screening. The prints looked fine to me but the shop guys eventually pulled me aside and showed me the difference in ink usage. Check your ctb file if you haven't lately?

Does it really matter if the prints look fine?
