The difference a new vellum cutter made in 3 weeks is wild
Been using the same old rotary cutter for years, finally swapped to a new one with a tungsten blade. In just 3 weeks my edges went from frayed and crooked to clean and straight on every sheet. Old blade was dull and I didn't even realize how much it was dragging. Anyone else had a tool switch fix something they thought was just their technique?

Wait, you're telling me even your straight cuts improved just from switching blades? Honestly, I was on the fence about this for a while. I always blamed my shaky hands for crooked vellum edges, not my old cutter. But ngl, after reading this I finally tried a new blade on my own setup and it was night and day. The drag was real, I just didn't feel it until I had something smooth. Tbh it's humbling how much a dull tool can make you doubt your own skill for no reason.

Couldn't agree more. I swapped blades on my x-acto last week after months of fighting with paper and seriously it was like cutting through butter vs. mud. It's wild how you don't notice the drag building up until you feel what smooth actually is. Now I check my blade before every project instead of just blaming my technique. You try different blade brands or stick with one type?
