Found a 1970s dredge pump that still runs like new in an old barn near Tulsa

Last month I pulled out a 45 year old Thomas pump from a dried up pond and after replacing the seals and cleaning the impeller it pushed 2,000 gallons a minute on the first try, has anyone else stumbled across old gear that just won't die?

My husband still runs a grinder from the 1960s in his workshop, and it just keeps going no matter what he puts through it. There is something about the way they built things back then, with proper metal and simple moving parts that you can actually fix yourself. Makes you wonder why we put up with all this fancy stuff that breaks the minute the warranty runs out.
