Tried a 6-inch knife for taping instead of my usual 10-inch
Picked up a 6-inch taping knife last Tuesday just to see if it would help with inside corners, ended up with way more mud buildup than I expected. Anyone else ever switch knife sizes and regret it immediately?

Man I feel you on that muscle memory thing, grabbed a 6 inch myself a few weeks back thinking it'd be easier for a small patch job. Ended up with these little ridges and a ton of extra sanding work, took me twice as long as just using my 10 inch. The smaller blade just doesn't have the same glide on the mud, you gotta adjust your whole wrist angle and pressure. Switched back to my usual after that one try and haven't looked back.

Bought a 4 inch a while back thinking it'd be perfect for tight spots and ended up with mud everywhere, felt like I was fighting it the whole time. That 6 inch sounds like the same deal, too small to spread smooth but big enough to make a mess. I swear switching sizes messes with your muscle memory so bad, you gotta relearn the whole stroke. Stuck with my 10 inch ever since, just stick to what works.
