I finally took a chance on that sketchy traffic lawyer in a strip mall near Southgate
Got a ticket for rolling through a stop sign in Sherwood Park back in February. My buddy swore by this guy who works out of an office next to a donair shop. Looked super shady, no website just a sign in the window. But he got the ticket thrown out for $150 flat fee. Still kinda can't believe it worked. Anybody else have a random lawyer recommendation that actually paid off?

Wait, is this the same guy who works out of that little plaza where the old Blockbuster used to be? Cause I had a totally bonkers experience with a lawyer there (not for traffic, but for a dispute with my landlord about a broken washing machine). The guy looked like he hadn't slept in a decade, his desk was covered in old coffee cups, but he wrote this three paragraph letter that scared my landlord so bad he paid for a brand new washer and dryer. I mean, the place smelled like stale donair and photocopier toner, but I saved like eight hundred bucks. Sometimes the sketchiest setups hide the most practical hustlers, you know?

Stale donair and photocopier toner" is way too specific not to be true. But @ryan_nelson, I gotta gently correct you on one thing: that plaza used to be a Rogers Video, not a Blockbuster. Blockbuster was two blocks north where the shitty mattress store is now. Anyway, yeah, that guy is exactly who you're thinking of. His office still looks like a caffeine explosion happened in 2003 and nobody cleaned it up. But the dude knows how to write a letter that makes people fold immediately. I sent a friend to him for a contractor who bailed mid-renovation and same thing, one scary letter and the guy finished the job. Sketchy vibes, solid results.
