Just realized I was filing my small claims wrong for like 3 years
I kept getting my disputes thrown out by the Edmonton Provincial Court and couldn't figure out why. Turns out I was putting the wrong address for the defendant on the paperwork every single time. I was using their mailing address instead of their legal address which is apparently a totally different thing in Alberta. A clerk finally pulled me aside last Tuesday after I filed my 4th claim and asked if I even read the instructions. I felt like such an idiot standing there with my folder full of rejected forms. Has anyone else messed up basic court filing rules before getting it sorted?

Hang on, you filed four different claims before a clerk said something? That's wild. I would've been so embarrassed I'd just leave the building and never come back.

Four whole claims before anyone said anything? I would've crawled into a hole and died right there on the spot.
