Lost $800 on a traffic lawyer who didn't even show up to court
Hired this guy off a recommendation from a coworker back in March for a speeding ticket in the 50 zone on Stony Plain Road. Paid him $800 upfront. Day of court comes and he's not there. Judge calls his name three times. Nothing. Ended up having to represent myself and got the full fine anyway. Has anyone else had a lawyer just bail on them like that? Thinking about small claims but not sure if it's worth it.

Wild. Sounds like he was double-booked and chose the bigger payout.

Not buying that. Plenty of people bail on gigs for less money when the other opportunity means more to their career. This just looks like poor planning or bad priorities.
