Pro tip: That lawyer my buddy recommended at a gas station actually saved me $800
A guy I know from my mail route told me to use this lawyer Dave who works out of a little office near Whyte Ave. I was fighting a traffic ticket that would have cost me $400 and points on my license. Dave got it dropped to a $75 fine with no points. Paid him $200 total. Has anyone else found a good lawyer through word of mouth that worked out better than the big firms?

Pretty sure parking tickets don't have points attached to them though.

Yeah, that lawyer Dave from the little office off Whyte Ave sounds like my guy. I had a similar thing with a parking ticket that was going to be $150 plus towing fees. A buddy told me about this dude named Rob who runs his practice out of a strip mall. He charged me $100 flat, got the city to drop it to a $50 fine with no points. Big firms wanted $300 just to look at it. Word of mouth is the way to go for stuff like this.
