Hit 500km on my summer bike commute and it's way more than I expected
I just checked my bike odometer last night and I'm sitting at 501 kilometers just from my rides to work and back since May. That includes those rainy days where I almost gave up and took the bus, and the one morning I got a flat near the Capilano bridge. It's funny because I only started doing this to save on parking downtown, not really thinking about distance. But seeing that number made me realize how much I've actually been out there, especially compared to last year when I maybe did 150 total. The best part is my legs don't feel shaky anymore going up the hill on 97th Street, which is a nice bonus. Anyone else tracking their km and surprised by what they've racked up around town?

Huh, I mean it's cool you hit 500km but I don't really get the surprise. You're riding every day to work, that adds up fast whether you're tracking it or not. Feels like you're just noticing something that was already happening.

Actually you're slightly off there. He's not riding EVERY day, just most weekdays and sometimes on weekends when the weather's good. Still a solid achievement though, especially if he was just doing it without really thinking about the distance adding up.
