Tried the new LRT line vs driving during rush hour yesterday - not even close

I had to get from Whyte Ave to downtown for a meeting at 8:30 AM yesterday. Usually I drive and it takes me about 25 minutes with traffic. Decided to try the Valley Line instead since the station is close to my place. Took me 15 minutes to walk to the station, then the train was packed and slow because of the single track. Ended up being 45 minutes total and I was late. Driving took 22 minutes on the way back with the same traffic. I don't get how the city spent all that money and it's somehow slower than my old car. Anyone else given up on the LRT for getting around central Edmonton?

You realize standing on a train is probably better for the planet than sitting in traffic though?

Call @dakota_singh39 out for ignoring how my time is worth something too.
