Vent: The showing that made me rethink south side condos completely
After a buyer walked out of a unit in Mill Woods because the AC broke mid-tour and the property manager took 45 minutes to even answer my call, I spent the next week lining up viewings for newer builds near the LRT and just saw 3 units sell for over asking in 4 days, has anyone else had a bad day totally flip how you feel about a neighborhood?

The whole thing just shows how people make big decisions based on one bad moment but that's life. I've seen it with houses, cars, even restaurants. One bad experience and you write off a whole area forever even though the next showing could be totally different. The newer units near the LRT ARE selling fast and that says something about demand. But buyers get in their heads after a bad day and let it color everything. It's like when someone gets bad service at a store and refuses to go back even though it's been fine for years. Your brain just latches onto that frustration and won't let go.

Oh yeah, nothing says "great investment" like sweating through a showing while a property manager ghosts you for the better part of an hour. I'm sure the buyers who just paid over asking for a newer LRT unit are real happy about their impulse purchase when the next heatwave hits and they're waiting 45 minutes for someone to answer a call about a leaky toilet. But hey, maybe the south side condos are pricing in that "surprise sauna experience" as a premium feature now.

Oh man, that's brutal. I had a similar thing happen a few years back when I was checking out a place in Riverbend and the whole showing got derailed because the agent showed up 20 minutes late and then couldn't find the keys. @taylor305 I get what you're saying about the heatwave thing but honestly my cousin bought one of those newer LRT units last summer and her AC is actually solid so far. But yeah idk, one bad showing can really poison your whole view of an area even if it's not totally fair.
