Shoutout to the Klein NCVT-3 tester over the cheaper pen style
I was doing a panel swap in an old house in Dayton and grabbed my old pen tester first. It kept giving false positives from induced voltage on some of the shared neutrals, which was a real headache. Switched to the Klein with its adjustable sensitivity and it cut through the noise, showing me exactly which lines were actually hot. That one feature saved me at least an hour of double checking. Has anyone else found a specific tool that just cuts through a common problem like that?

That adjustable sensitivity sounds like a game changer. Did you have to play with the settings much to find the sweet spot, or was it pretty straightforward?

My buddy had the same issue with ghost voltage in an old apartment building, and switching to a tester with that low setting saved his sanity. What do you usually set yours to?

It was pretty straightforward. I started on the high setting to be safe, then dropped it down to medium once I knew the general area. That usually cuts out the ghost voltage but still picks up the real hot wires.
