Reflecting on the move from shop life to remote repair setups

I remember the buzz of a busy repair floor, with techs calling out for parts. Today, I'm at home, scheduling video calls with clients. Management used to be about daily check-ins, now it's project-based. I do enjoy the freedom, but sometimes I crave that team energy!

Wait, you do repairs over video calls now? That's wild to me (like, how do you even see the tiny parts clearly?). I get the project-based freedom, but man, that hands-on team vibe just sounds totally gone.

Thought the same until I tried it.

@mila_fox98, you're right about the tiny parts - half the time I'm squinting at the screen like a fool. From what I've seen, good lighting and a cheap macro lens can save the day, but your mileage may vary. The hands-on vibe is totally gone, no lie, and I miss the chaos of everyone crowding around a workbench. We've tried to keep the team spirit alive with virtual coffee breaks, which is about as effective as you'd expect. Still, it beats not fixing things at all, I guess.
