PSA: Stop using zip ties on governor cables in high rises
I was on a job in downtown Chicago last week and saw a newer guy had zipped the governor cable to the rail every 10 feet. That cable needs to swing free so it can trip the overspeed governor if something goes wrong. I had to cut all 40 ties off and redo the whole run myself. Has anyone else run into this shortcut on a 30 story or taller?

Doesn't that just sum up how people take shortcuts on everything these days?

Right? People just rush through EVERYTHING now, nothing gets done proper.
