Rant: Threw $400 at a 'smart' elevator diagnostic tool and it was useless

Bought that Bluetooth vibration analyzer for our MRLs in Chicago last month. Thing couldn't even tell a bad bearing from a loose rail bolt. Anyone else have luck with the old stethoscope method instead?

Right, totally agree, that Bluetooth thing was a total waste of cash.

Yeah, totally feel you on that. I bought one of those Bluetooth stethoscopes thinking it would be cool to record heartbeats and send them to my doc. But it just ended up being a headache with connectivity issues and the app crashing all the time. My old Littmann works just fine and never needs a firmware update. Sometimes simple really is better, especially when you just need to check if someone's alive.

Old stethoscope never lies, that tech is just overcomplicating things.
