Signal calling feature bypassed my government's firewall in 20 minutes
I was pulling my hair out trying to get a secure call through to a contact in Southeast Asia last month, even my usual VPN was getting throttled. Then I realized Signal's built-in calling feature just routes through their servers differently, and it worked clean without any extra setup. Has anyone else found native app features that accidentally dodge restrictions better than dedicated tools?

Honestly that's hilarious, like who knew the workaround was just using the app the way it was meant to work. Tbh the government probably spent more money on that firewall than my whole internet setup and Signal just laughed through it. Ngl I'm convinced half these "advanced restrictions" are just theater anyway, like they block the obvious stuff but forget the basic things. The real irony is paying for a VPN that gets throttled while the free calling feature does the job in 20 minutes. Sarcasm aside, maybe the best tools are the ones already sitting on your phone being ignored.

Wait, you mean all that surveillance tech can't stop a free app from doing what it was designed to do?
