I just hit 500 units of my own serum sold this quarter
Started mixing it in my kitchen last year after a client in Phoenix said my trial batch cleared her redness. The number hit me when I was doing my taxes yesterday and realized it's a real side business now. How do you guys handle the jump from making things for a few people to actually stocking and selling them?

Yeah, that tax moment is the real wake-up call. For me, the big shift was getting a simple inventory sheet going, just a Google doc at first. I tracked every batch number, when I made it, and when it sold. That stopped me from running out of my base oils mid-month. Then I had to figure out shipping in bulk, buying mailers by the hundred instead of running to the post office for ten at a time.

Track your cost per unit next to those batch numbers, @tyler_knight. Once I saw the real cost of each bar, including packaging and my time, I finally priced things to actually make a profit. That sheet also made tax season way less of a nightmare because all the numbers were already there.

Buying mailers in bulk was a total game changer for me too.
