Rasp quality went to hell after switching to a new supplier

I used the same guy for 8 years. Tried a cheaper outfit last month. Anyone else see a drop in bite with economy rasps?

Doubt it's that serious man. Rasp quality is rasp quality, it's not like they're making gourmet sawdust or something. Sounds like you just got a bad batch or maybe the new guy's stuff is a little coarser. It happens. Not exactly a crisis unless you're building cabinets for the queen.

Did you see that article where a guy tested like 20 different rasps and found the cheap ones actually outlasted the brand name ones in some cases? @taylor305 might be on to something about it not being a big deal. Sounds more like a minor inconvenience than anything.
