A client in Phoenix told me my quarter round cuts were sloppy and it made me switch to a miter saw for everything.
I used to just use a hand saw and a coping saw for all my trim work, thought it was fine and saved time. This guy pointed out the gaps on a big luxury vinyl plank job and said, 'For what I'm paying, I expect perfect joints.' It stung, but he was right. I bought a basic 10-inch sliding miter saw the next week. The difference is night and day, especially on longer runs. Anyone else get called out on something that made you finally upgrade your method?

Honestly, a tiny gap in quarter round seems like a weird hill to die on. Most people never even notice that stuff once the furniture is in. It's good to have the right tool, but that client sounds a bit extra.

Right? @the_charles has a point. I've seen people lose it over a paint drip the size of a grain of rice. Once the couch and a rug go down, you're literally never going to see that corner again. It's like they're paying for the chance to find something wrong. Some folks just need the drama, I guess.
