I finally bought the uncensored academic papers on the 1988 Gwangju Uprising
Spent about $75 on the digital archive from a Korean publisher, and it completely rewrote my understanding of the event. Has anyone else found a source that changed a major historical event for them?

Wait, you spent seventy five bucks on some old papers? What did they say that the free stuff online got totally wrong?

Damn, that's a heavy one to dive into. Reading primary sources can totally flip the script on stuff you thought you knew. Makes you wonder what else is out there waiting to be found.
