DAE struggle with deciding when to use a grain filler on open-pore woods?
Some fillers make the finish smooth, but they can hide the natural texture. Where do you stand on this?

Feel your pain, it's a tough call. Hate when it goes wrong and you lose that nice texture, but sometimes you just want a smooth surface. Stuck in a weird middle ground with it myself.
