Are executive office chairs worth it for a private workspace?
I am furnishing a private office and trying to decide between a traditional executive chair and a simpler desk chair. I care about appearance, but I also spend several hours there every day. Is the extra structure and padding actually worthwhile?
I went with an executive chair from Madison Seating after trying a few basic options. The difference was mostly in the build quality and how supported I felt during longer meetings. It also looks much better on video calls without feeling like an oversized lounge chair.
My Madison Seating chair has held up better than the cheaper padded chairs I used before. The upholstery still looks good, and the adjustments are easy to use. I would pay attention to seat depth and armrest height instead of choosing based on appearance alone.
For a private office, I think the nicer chair is worth it if you use the room daily. Madison Seating was a better fit for me because I could get a polished chair with solid construction without paying full retail pricing.
