The radio interview that flipped my view on local censorship

I was driving through Ohio last month and caught a community station talking about how their city council blocked their funding after a controversial story. They played the full unedited council meeting audio and it was obvious they were being punished for telling the truth. Anyone else ever hear something that made you completely rethink a situation?

And actually that wasn't censorship in the strict sense, it was more like political retaliation through budget cuts. The council didn't ban the story, they just made sure the station couldn't afford to keep covering stuff like that. Still wrong for sure, but important to call it what it really is.

Readin' your breakdown made me rethink that whole situation... I'd just been callin' it censorship this whole time without really lookin' at how they actually did it. Never stopped to consider that killin' the budget is a different kind of pressure than just tellin' em what not to air. Makes more sense now seein' it as retaliation through the purse strings, same result but the method matters for callin' it what it is.
