Vent: My cousin said I was overreacting about a book being pulled from our local library
He told me it was just one book, and that libraries weed out old stuff all the time. This was different. They removed a graphic novel about a protest in Hong Kong because a parent group said it was 'divisive.' I checked, and that same book is banned in several countries. I argued with him that it sets a bad example, but he just shrugged. Now I see the same group is looking at other books about protests. It feels like a small step here that copies bigger problems elsewhere. Has anyone else seen a local ban that seemed to follow a pattern from another country?
