PSA: I ran my dog grooming shop's 300 appointments through two different AI schedulers and the cheap one crushed the expensive one
I run a one person grooming shop in Boise and got sick of double bookings, so I tested two AI schedulers for 6 weeks each. The fancy one cost $89 a month and kept moving my nervous dogs into the wrong slots because it didn't get that anxious dogs need the first appointment of the day. The $12 one just watched my notes and figured out the pattern on its own after about 40 bookings. After 3 weeks with the pricey tool I was still fixing its mistakes by hand, but the cheap one had my Saturdays locked in perfect. I think the big companies train on office meetings and not on how real small businesses run. Has anyone else found a cheap tool that just got your weird schedule without you having to teach it everything?

My sister's bakery in Nampa had the same thing happen, the $200 a year tool kept putting her big wedding cake orders on days she already had farmer's market drop offs. Cheap tools seem to actually read your notes instead of just slotting people into generic time blocks. The fancy ones are built for corporate calendars and they just don't get that a groomer or baker's day has a rhythm to it.
