Why is everyone so sure AI art is just a tool for artists?
I was trying to make a poster for a local band last week and spent 3 hours fighting with prompts, only to get a weird hand with seven fingers. That's when it hit me: maybe this tech isn't ready to be a 'creative partner' for most people, it's just a fancy filter bank for people who already know design. Has anyone else had a project completely stall out because the AI just couldn't get a basic concept right?

Yeah, that "fancy filter bank" idea hits home, I just sketch my core idea first now.

My crew uses AI for mood boards, but I still sketch concepts by hand first. It's a specific tool, not a general creative brain.

Exactly. Heard a designer on a podcast say AI is like a really fast intern that fetches references, but it can't have the original "what if" moment that starts in your sketchbook. It's good for building on a human idea, not replacing the spark.
