Just read the FAA's new report on composite repair times and my jaw dropped

It says a simple carbon fiber patch job on a wing skin now takes 40% longer to sign off than five years ago. Found it buried in their latest advisory circular update. How are shops even keeping up with these extra hours?

Forty percent longer just to sign off on a patch. Guess we're all just supposed to fly planes held together with good vibes and extra paperwork now.

So what's the actual reason for the delay? Just more forms to fill out, or is there some new inspection step they're not telling us about? Feels like they keep adding layers without fixing the real problems. Makes you wonder if this is about safety or just covering their own backs.
