Spent 4 hours trying to get a snowmachine started in -30, turned out the kill switch was frozen

Wait, you spent four hours on a frozen kill switch? I've seen kill switches freeze up before but usually it's the first thing I check when it's that cold out. Sounds like you learned the hard way that the simplest stuff gets you every time in extreme cold. At least it wasn't something worse like a cracked block or a fuel line full of ice, right? Next time just pour a little warm water over the switch housing and give it a few clicks before you start tearing everything apart.
