The guy who broke my sprinkler valve told me to just "turn it off at the main" like I was born yesterday
He was standing there in my front yard in Albuquerque last Tuesday with my water shooting ten feet in the air, and when I asked him if he could fix it he just shrugged and said "you can turn the main off yourself, right" before hopping in his truck and driving off. Has anyone else dealt with a contractor who ditched mid-job like that?

What could possibly go wrong when you mix stubborn people with outdated systems? It's like a perfect little disaster smoothie no one asked for. Hope you at least got a good story out of it before the headache kicked in.
