Stopped by the old Sears parts counter in Tacoma yesterday

It's been maybe five years since I was last in that store. The whole parts desk area is gone, replaced with some clothing racks. I used to go there all the time to grab a weird belt or a thermal fuse for a dryer on the spot. Now it's just another empty spot where you could actually talk to someone who knew the model numbers. It got me thinking about how many local parts sources have dried up in the last decade. What's your go-to spot now when you need a part same-day and can't wait for shipping?

Honestly, I've had decent luck with the local appliance parts place over on 6th. They keep a lot of the common stuff in stock, like belts and heating elements. It's not as big as the old Sears counter, but the guy there usually knows his stuff.

Ever try getting something weird like a specific dryer timer?
