I finally realized why my son's meltdowns were worse at the grocery store
Took me until he was 7 years old to figure out the fluorescent lights were bothering him. He could tell me all along but I just wasn't connecting the dots. Anyone else miss obvious sensory triggers for years before it clicks?

Wait, like the overhead lights in the store? Thats wild. I used to think my nephew was just being dramatic when hed lose it in the cereal aisle. Then we went to a warehouse store with those giant buzzing lights and he hid under the cart. Totally changed how I see those meltdowns now.

The lighting thing is such a good example of how our world just isn't built for some people's brains. Makes you wonder how many other "bad behavior" moments are really just a kid's sensory system screaming for help.
