I was dead wrong about noise cancelling headphones being a waste of money

For years I thought they were just expensive earplugs for rich people. Then last month I had a full meltdown in the grocery store because of the beeping scanners and a kid screaming. My partner handed me their Sony XM4s and I sat in the car for 20 minutes just... existing without noise. It literally stopped me from spiraling. Has anyone else held out on something that ended up being a total game changer for sensory stuff?

Wait, are those the ones that can also block out screaming kids? I might need to try that.

Yeah I actually read somewhere that some of the newer ones have like a special mode for blocking out high-pitched noises. Might be worth checking the reviews for that.
