Occupational therapy waitlist meltdown, need alternatives
My son's OT finally dropped us after 8 months on the waitlist, the clinic in Portland said they're overbooked until next spring. He was doing so well with the sensory gym sessions and now we're just stuck at home with no plan. I tried reaching out to two other clinics and both have similar waits or won't take our insurance. Has anyone found decent sensory activities or home programs that actually helped while waiting for services?
Eight months on a waitlist just to get dropped, that's a special kind of cruel. At this rate your kid will be driving himself to OT appointments. Wondering if a trampoline and some heavy blankets at home could hold things over, that's basically half the sensory gym anyway.
