Read a post about masking at work and it hit close to home

Someone said they spend 2 hours decompressing after a full day of pretending to be neurotypical, and I finally realized why I crash so hard after 8 hours of retail. Has anyone found a way to dial back the acting at work without getting fired?

Went through my entire shift today pretending I know what a "zucchini" is.

Wait, did you just spend eight hours nodding along while someone asked you to dice a zucchini and you had no clue what it looked like? Because that's actually kind of impressive, dedicating to the bit that hard without someone noticing. Must have been awkward when you finally googled it and realized it's basically just a green cucumber that tastes like nothing.
