Spent over $300 on a sensory swing that just collects dust
I bought a fancy indoor sensory swing last year, thinking it would help with my son's meltdowns. The website promised a calming space and showed kids looking totally relaxed. We set it up in his room, but he was scared of the motion and the fabric texture felt wrong to him. It's been hanging there for eight months, unused. I see these recommended a lot, but they aren't a sure thing for every kid. Has anyone else had a pricey tool or toy that just didn't work for their family?

Honestly I was totally sold on the idea of weighted blankets for my nephew. Tbh I thought it was a sure fix for his trouble settling at night. Spent a good chunk of money on a really nice one. He hated the feeling of being pinned down, said it felt scary. It just sits folded at the foot of his bed now. Changed my whole view on those one size fits all solutions.
