Dropped $60 on a fancy baking stone and my pizza crust is still a disaster
I bought this high-end baking stone from a local kitchen shop in Portland last month after reading all the raves online. The thing cost me $60 and I thought it would fix my soggy pizza bottom problem for good. But after three tries, my crust keeps coming out pale and tough, not crispy like I wanted. I preheated it for an hour at 500 degrees like they said, so what am I missing? Has anyone else had luck with a stone or did I just waste my cash?

Yeah "ugh" is right. My buddy Tom had the same thing happen with his car last month. He was sitting in the parking lot for like an hour before a tow truck even showed up.
