Got age-banned from Discord for posting that parrot meme, appeal took 5 days

Last Tuesday I shared that classic "this is fine" parrot meme in a friend's server, except someone edited the dog's eyes to look like the guy from that political controversy. I didn't check the edit before posting. Within 10 minutes my whole account got flagged for "disinformation" and locked out of every server I was in. I appealed through their form with a screenshot showing the original meme and my comment history, which was just cat photos and baking fails. They replied 5 days later saying the ban was "automated and mistaken." Still, I lost access to 3 active group chats and one server I'd been in for 2 years. What bugs me is how easy it is to nuke someone's account over a modified jpeg with zero human review upfront. Has anyone else dealt with a bogus Discord or Reddit ban that took forever to undo? Did you fight it or just start fresh?

yeah I got hit with something similar on reddit last year. posted a link to a news article without realizing the domain was on some auto-ban list for spam. took 6 days to get a human response and by then I'd already made a new account cause I figured it was done. the old one eventually got restored but I just stuck with the new one since all my saved stuff was gone anyway. what worked for me was posting in their official support subreddit with my ticket number, that seemed to speed things up. also I started screenshotting every important convo I was in, learned that the hard way.

Gotta call that out though, reddit's support subreddit thing usually only works if you've got mod status or a ton of karma, regular accounts just get ignored there. I tried that trick after my main got nuked for a similar auto-flag issue, and it just sat there for a week before a mod told me to use the normal ticket system anyway. The screenshot idea is solid though, I started doing that after losing a 4 year old server history to a bogus ban, and it's saved me twice since. Did you end up staying on the new account or did you go back once they restored the old one?
