My professor warned me my paper topic would get flagged
He said my argument about campus protest zones would be seen as too political for the department newsletter. I submitted it anyway and the editor rejected it, saying it 'didn't align with the publication's current focus'. What's a topic you've been told to avoid writing about?

Remember when I tried writing about the weird way our library funding got cut? My advisor basically said it was a career killer. So I took the data and wrote about student study space access instead (which was the real problem anyway). Got it published in the campus paper by focusing on the student impact, not the politics. Sometimes you just have to find the side door, you know?
