Clipper spring broke mid-haircut on a busy Saturday

I was cutting a regular client in Austin last weekend, doing a fade like I've done a hundred times. Right as I was working on the top, the spring on my Wahl Senior snapped. Client had half a haircut and I had six more people waiting. I had to finish with my backup trimmer, which messed up the blend a bit. Took me an extra 15 minutes to fix it and the client was cool about it, but I was sweating bullets. Now I keep two full clipper setups ready at all times. Anyone else had a tool fail on you mid-cut like that?

Dude, same thing happened to me with my Oster 76s during a bulk cut last spring. The blade drive just gave out, no warning. I had like four people waiting and had to switch to my cheap backup clipper that couldnt blend for crap. Now I keep two full setups plus extra blades and springs in my bag. You learn that lesson the hard way, your mileage may vary but I swear by having backups for everything now.

Is carrying all that extra weight really worth it though? I just keep a spare blade set for my main clipper and call it a day... seems like lugging two full setups is overkill for something that might not even happen.
