My appointment book hit 400 regulars this month and it feels wild
I was going through my client list yesterday, just doing some basic sorting, and I counted exactly 400 people who have come back at least three times in the last year. That number really got me thinking. When I started my chair five years ago, I was just hoping to fill my Tuesday slots. Now, building that kind of repeat business means they trust me with their look, and that's the whole point of the job for me. It's not just about the cut, it's about being the person they come to talk to every few weeks. I keep notes on little things, like if a guy prefers the hot towel cooler or if his kid is about to start tee-ball, and I think those details add up. Has anyone else tracked something like this and found a number that surprised them about their own shop?

Honestly, I used to think it was just about the service. But seeing a number like that really shows how much the personal stuff matters.

Oh totally. It's easy to get stuck on the basic task, but the feeling you're left with is what you actually remember. Like, a mechanic could fix your car perfectly, but if they were rude and didn't explain anything, you'd probably find a new one. That "personal stuff" is the whole experience.
