My big weekend choice: finish The Bear or start Shogun
I had a free Saturday and the choice was between finishing season two of The Bear or diving into the new Shogun series. I went with Shogun and watched the first four episodes straight through. The detail in the sets and costumes is amazing, and it really pulls you into that world. I didn't even look at my phone once, which is rare for me. Has anyone else gotten hooked on it and found the pacing picks up after the first couple episodes?

Totally get that, the first episode felt a little slow but it's all that world building. Once you get past the setup and the politics really start to click, you just can't stop watching. The tension in episode three had me on the edge of my seat! It's one of those shows where every little detail matters later on.

The way they used the color blue in the first episode actually comes back in a huge way. That little blue flower on the ambassador's desk in scene two... it's the same poison they use in episode five. @kellyfoster is right about the details, but I haven't seen anyone connect that specific visual clue yet. It makes you wonder how much else we missed just in the background. The costume people must have had a field day hiding stuff like that.
