Spent $80 on a Kickstarter board game that never shipped

I backed this game called "Dungeon Delvers" back in 2021, put in 80 bucks for the deluxe edition. The creator kept posting updates about "art delays" and "component issues" for like two years before going totally silent. Has anyone else gotten burned by a board game Kickstarter and actually gotten their money back?

My buddy backed a game called "Zombie Survival Sim" for like $60 back in 2020 and the same thing happened. They kept posting about "playtesting feedback" and "art revisions" for over a year and then poof, gone. He tried to do a chargeback through his credit card but the window had already closed since it had been too long. I mean, Kickstarter themselves don't do refunds so you're really at the mercy of the creator. Maybe check if your credit card has some kind of purchase protection still active, that's the only way I've seen anyone actually get money back from these things. It's such a bummer because you want to support cool projects but the risk is just built into it, you know?

Did your friend ever try tagging the creators on social media to see if that got any response?
