Hit 50 pages in one sitting for the first time last week
I used to be a total skimmer, like just flipping through chapters to get the gist. But my book club picked 'The Overstory' and I forced myself to actually read every word for a full hour. Reached page 50 and it felt like a real milestone, not bragging but it changed how I see slow reading. Has anyone else found a book that totally flipped their reading habits like that?

Oh, that's lovely! I had a similar turn with 'The Goldfinch' a few years back - it was so long I figured I'd never finish it, but something about the way it unfolded made me slow way down for the first time. I actually started underlining sentences in pencil, which I never do, and it made me realize how much I was missing by rushing through stories.
