Unpopular opinion: character-driven novels beat plot-heavy ones every time
I was in a book club debate last month about two popular thrillers. One had a super twisty plot but flat characters. The other was slower but had a protagonist I actually cared about. We argued for two hours and nobody budged. Has anyone else found that a great character makes up for a slow story?
