Serious question, has anyone else had trouble with that new vegan PVA glue?

I used it on a quarter leather binding last week and the spine lining just would not set, stayed tacky for two days. I had to scrape it all off and redo it with my usual Jade 403. Anyone found a vegan alternative that actually works?

Weird, my experience was the opposite. I used it for a cloth hinge repair and it dried clear overnight. Maybe it depends on the paper or leather you're using. The humidity in my workspace was pretty low that day.

Oh man, that sounds like a total mess. My own attempt with that stuff ended with a book that stuck to my workbench like it was superglued. Had to pry it up with a palette knife and everything was ruined. Honestly gave up on finding a perfect vegan glue for that kind of work. Maybe the formula just needs more time to really set? What a pain though, right? Have you tried any other brands since then?

Sounds like my last craft project (a sad, sticky collage). Maybe @the_ruby is onto something with the humidity thing, because my apartment is basically a swamp. Honestly gave up and just use wheat paste now for most things, it's less fussy.
